The Desolate Planet Chapter 6
Tegan couldn’t feel anything, her face paled, it was almost as if the whole world was crumbling around her. The Khrelan smirked devilishly at her shivering frame and opened his gaping mouth, bringing her closer towards his deadly teeth.
“No, no, please! Don’t eat me!” she screeched, desperately trying to struggle free from the giant’s grasp, but it was no use. The Khrelan was set on eating her right then and there.
“You can’t eat me!” she spluttered as she became closer and closer towards his wickedly sharp teeth. “because I’m…I’m infected!”
The Khrelan stopped i

When Tegan awoke the following morning, all she could feel was intense pain throbbing aggressively in her ankle as she slowly blinked open her eyes. Once her vision had adjusted to the lighting, she rubbed her eyes slowly, drinking in her surroundings. Her gaze drifted down to her fractured ankle, which was delicately wrapped in a makeshift splint, and the events from yesterday suddenly came rushing back to her all at once.
Oh yeah, my ship crashed, I fractured my ankle and now a giant alien is holding me hostage – great.
Shifting around in the feathery nest, she slowly pushed herself up so that she was in a sitting upright position.

The icy current whipped through Kuro’s shortly cropped hair, his powerful tail propelling him through the cold waters as moonlight washed over him through the seawater. Despite the fact that he had been in the open ocean for around six months now, he still couldn’t get over the fact that he was actually free from his imprisonment. He had been experimented on, treated as some kind of lab rat, and forced into a concrete box against his own will for fourteen years of his life. Thankfully, he hadn’t forgotten how to hunt during his time in the concrete tank. His mind flickered back to Grace, a smile tugged at the corner of his l

Six months had passed since Grace had freed Kuro from her father’s aquarium. Upon freeing Kuro, she had managed to contact several animal right’s activists and explained to them what her father had done. It didn’t take long for the police to be involved and they quickly found out that her father was found guilty for the mistreatment and abuse of many marine animals. As a result, Professor Blackwood was sent to a lifetime in jail and his aquarium was closed down. All of the marine animals that used to live in the aquarium were rehabilitated and put back into the ocean respectively. Helen, Grace’s mother, took some time

After several more minutes of rather painful silence, Tegan was once again greeted by light as Azure stepped out of the tunnels. She blinked a couple of times, trying yet again to adjust to the sudden change in lighting, and she nearly gasped. Azure had taken Tegan to what appeared to be some sort of underground cave with a running stream of water that split across the middle of the room. In one corner there was a pile of soft ferns and feathers which Tegan assumed was where Azure slept. Dozens of glowing blue lights decorated the room, giving it a blueish tone to the entire area. Other ornaments were pinned up against the walls, many of whic

Tegan was finding it extremely hard not to panic in this situation, but there wasn’t exactly a lot that she could do to help herself. She decided to remain silent for the rest of the trip, afraid that if she said anything more it would anger him. He could easily end her life whenever he pleased, especially considering she was in such a vulnerable position and she was so much smaller than him.
Well, at least I discovered that something does actually live on this rock, she thought, her heart racing ninety miles per hour.
“Do you really have to hold me in your mouth? I honestly thought you were going to eat me!” Tegan blurted

“KURO!” Grace yelled at the top of her lungs, her chest heaving as adrenaline pulsed through her veins. Kuro instantly sat up at seeing Grace run towards him, his eyes bright and alert.
Before she could open her mouth to speak, Grace found the button on the remote that released Kuro’s collar. She quickly pressed it with no hesitation and glanced eagerly up at her merman friend. Kuro’s emerald eyes met hers, his eyes slowly growing wider, as there was a loud clicking sound of the collar unhinging itself from around his neck. And then suddenly it fell off from his neck like it was a piece of scrap metal and fell into th

Tegan had to force herself not to scream. Here she was, completely defenseless and sitting on top of a giant alien that could squash her like she was some measly insect. The sleeping giant shifted, a low rumble emitted from its chest as another gust of hot air washed over her. Then, with little warning, she felt the giant begin to turn over in its sleep, causing Tegan to tumble down the side of its chest. She felt her ankle flare with pain as she collided with the rough ground below, and she grasped it with her hand, gritting her teeth, she desperately began to crawl out of the way, frantically limping with everything that she had, but she co

All Kuro could feel was numbness seeping through his body as Grace finished reading the last page of the journal. She slowly folded the book and craned her neck up at him.
“I…” Grace breathed, but she snapped her mouth shut before she could say anything more. She swallowed hard, trying to muster some form of speech to escape from her lips, but all that came out was a raspy, barely audible whisper.
“I guess we finally know now,” Kuro said, speaking the words for her. “This is why your father treated me like this. In his eyes my mother betrayed him.”
“Yeah…” she mumbled. “But
